Jacob Schmalzle is the founder of Spirit of Service (SOS), a fiduciary services firm specializing in estate executor and trustee support. His career began by helping a member of his church community navigate probate, an experience that revealed the need for more compassionate, service-driven estate administration.

After personally navigating the loss of his father and grandmother, Schmalzle developed a deep understanding of the emotional and logistical challenges families face during estate settlement. He launched SOS in 2025 to provide efficient, transparent estate services that reduce delays and preserve value.

Guided by a strong commitment to service and faith-based values, Schmalzle built charitable giving into the company’s model—donating 10% of fees to clients’ chosen causes. Today, he leads with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and helping families manage both legacy and loss with confidence.
